Mandala is a Sanskrit word, which means, “Circle”. This hallowed diagram or meditation symbol is normally round and is a symbolic representation of the cosmos and its energy. The Crown Chakra, or seventh chakra, is also known as Sahasrara and is located at the top of the head. It is specifically associated with the pituitary gland, brain and central nervous system.  It points upward, and is used as a tool to communicate with our spiritual selves.

The Crown Chakra represents one being truly open to their spirituality and to their own Divinity. It is through this chakra we connect to our higher self and higher power. The crown chakra is related to knowledge, wisdom, imagination, consciousness and spiritual connection. It governs our ability to learn, understand and our need to gather information and know.

Each chakra has its own vibration, and a colour that can be used to enhance its vibrational frequency. Violet stimulates this chakra, benefiting meditation, inspiration, intuition, and inner emotional release.

An imbalance of the Crown Chakra can lead to diseases of the muscular system, skeletal sytem and can cause sensitivity to light, sound and environment. When it is highly developed, we fully understand the “oneness” of universal existence and experience true inner peace.
